Nine years before COVID, Anthony Fauci told a colleague at his own institute to destroy an email about gain-of-function research: "Please delete this e-mail and then delete from the deleted file." That is not a paraphrase. It is a verbatim record, released by Senator Rand Paul and first reported by Emily Kopp at the Daily Caller News Foundation, written the morning after Fauci complained to NIH director Francis Collins about a New York Times writer who had warned the research could produce an "engineered doomsday." The Daily Signal notes that destroying federal records is a violation of federal law. Fauci testified under oath to Congress in 2024 that he never destroyed official records. Both of those things cannot be true.
Also in today's episode: Iran's Revolutionary Guard fires on American bases in Jordan and the president promises an answer, with crude climbing above $86 a barrel per Bloomberg; Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy shuts down 270 commercial truck driving schools and ties 239 deaths on American roads to drivers who could not read the signs; the Supreme Court lets the White House ballroom go up five to four, with the Chief Justice writing in dissent that it is "likely unlawful"; a federal grand jury subpoenas the law professor who carried James Comey's memos to the press; JD Vance answers a Michigan Senate candidate who brought his wife into it; the president telephones Apple about a lake; and an off-duty firefighter walking home from a run carries a neighbor out of a burning house and restarts his heart on the lawn.
There is a famine of truth in our land. Nine stories. Seven o'clock. The truth starts now.
